Working With Gympie Regional Council

Gympie Foreshore Park hosts council events, community gatherings, and seasonal activations. The space went dark after dusk, limiting evening event potential. Gympie Regional Council wanted a flexible lighting solution that could support any event without requiring custom rig builds. We designed a semi-permanent modular system: twelve intelligent LED fixtures mounted on quick-release poles, stored at council depot, deployable in 25 minutes. The fixtures are networked on DMX and controlled via wireless interface—zero technical setup required. The system defaults to warm ambient lighting (2700K, 50% intensity), suitable for most community events. For specific activations (live music, food festivals, awards ceremonies), we reprogram from a mobile console to match the event's character. By early 2026, Foreshore Park had hosted eight evening events, with consistent positive feedback about the "well-lit and welcoming" atmosphere. The council no longer budget for lighting on a per-event basis; the infrastructure is available for every activation. That's the sustainable outcome: infrastructure that enables opportunity rather than constraining it, and demonstrates the economic value of good evening lighting in creating additional revenue for councils and supporting local business.
