Hosting a wedding there is a privilege, and your lighting approach needs to honour that. We've lit four weddings at Roma Street, and the brief is always the same: enhance the natural beauty without adding noise or disruption.

Your ceremony space is typically a cleared area within the gardens, surrounded by landscape design that's already been refined over decades. Don't fight that. Instead, work with it. Minimal uplighting on background trees to create depth—soft warm white, nothing harsh or bright. The focus should feel natural, like the landscape itself is framing the ceremony. By dusk, when natural light fades, your uplighting becomes more essential, but keep it refined and subtle. Guests should feel like they're in a garden at twilight, not under theatrical production.

The reception space at Roma Street typically involves a hired marquee or pavilion. Overhead festoon from the marquee structure is essential—warm white LEDs in a loose pattern that creates ambient glow without feeling dense or carnival-like. The combination of overhead festoon and the established garden landscape creates natural atmosphere that requires minimal additional decor. The parkland is already beautiful; light just needs to reveal it as evening falls.

Tree uplighting scattered through the grounds around the marquee creates subtle architectural definition—frames the space, adds depth, guides guests through the property as they move between ceremony and reception areas. We'll coordinate with the venue and your booking contract to understand power availability. If generators are needed, we'll bring our own and position them out of sight.
