We've lit two weddings here, and the challenge is making every light source feel like it was already part of the hotel's design, not added for the occasion.

The outdoor terrace ceremony is stunning with mature trees providing natural canopy. We'll uplift the ceremony backdrop softly (warm white or pale gold) so the couple reads clearly against the garden backdrop without washing out the landscape. Minimal, refined, trusting that the architecture and landscape are already doing the heavy lifting. By dusk, your ceremony lighting becomes more essential, but keep it tight and focused—directional light sculpts faces beautifully.

The ballroom indoors has that polished luxury feel—marble, chandeliers, refined finishes. Projection mapping works beautifully here if restrained. We'll keep it subtle during dinner (soft colour wash coordinated with your palette) and bring it to energy during the reception. Custom monograms or initials projected during key moments add personal touch without feeling over-the-top. The wall finishes are forgiving; projection reads beautifully and never feels harsh.

Festoon overhead in the ballroom should feel like elegant accent, not dense festival. We typically spec a single run in a loop pattern, keeping spacing generous, warm white LEDs. The combination of the hotel's existing chandeliers, wall sconces, and your festoon creates layered, sophisticated light that photographs beautifully and reads premium. Guests should feel the room is refined, not decorated.

The terrace for reception (if weather permits) is where Spicers earns its keep. Overhead festoon from the hotel structure, tree uplighting around the edges, soft ground-level uplighting on any accent architectural features.
