Like most rural showgrounds, it has basic electrical infrastructure designed for security rather than modern event production. When Tenterfield Shire Council developed plans to enhance event hosting capability and support more ambitious community programming, comprehensive showground lighting design became essential. We worked with Council to create permanent and flexible temporary systems serving diverse event types without requiring reconfiguration between functions.

Agricultural shows demand functional, competition-grade lighting respecting the serious nature of livestock judging and product assessment. The Tenterfield Show features livestock competitions, produce displays, and craft exhibitions requiring proper illumination for fair evaluation. We used intelligent wash rigs positioned to eliminate shadows across exhibition areas, providing professional-grade lighting that competition integrity demands. Judges assessing livestock, wool, produce, and crafts depend entirely on lighting quality.

Exhibition and display areas need bright, functional illumination. Agricultural shows feature produce displays, craft exhibits, and educational displays that visitors and judges assess carefully. Proper lighting directly affects judging fairness and visitor experience. We designed flexible systems adjusting for different competitive categories without requiring complete teardown between show components.

Equipment positioning and rigging integration with showground infrastructure required assessment of existing structures.
