This is a marketing site for our event lighting hire business. The only personal information we collect is what you type into our quote and contact forms — your name, contact details, and the event you're planning. We do not sell, rent, or share your details with anyone, and we don't use them for third-party advertising or AI training. Ask us to delete your details any time and we will.

Lume Hire is an Australian event lighting hire company based in South East Queensland, Australia, serving the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers. Contact: hello@lumehire.com.

3. What we collect

3.1 Information you give us directly

• Quote and contact forms: name, phone, email, and your event details (date, venue, what you'd like lit).
• Email correspondence: anything you send to hello@lumehire.com.

3.2 Information collected automatically

• Hosting logs: standard web-server access logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, URL) retained by Netlify for security and abuse monitoring.

We don't currently run behavioural analytics or advertising pixels on this Site. If that changes, this policy and the "Last updated" date will change with it.

4. How we use your information

• Respond to your quote request or enquiry, and plan your event lighting with you.
• Coordinate delivery, installation, and pack-down for booked events.
• Protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with our legal obligations under the Australian Privacy Principles and other applicable law.

We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

5. Third-party processors

• Web3Forms (form delivery) — relays quote and contact form submissions to our inbox.
• Netlify (hosting) — serves the Site and keeps standard access logs.

6. Cookies and local storage

The Site uses local storage for functional preferences only — remembering your light/dark theme choice and whether you've dismissed the cookie notice. No third-party tracking cookies are set by us.

7. Security and retention

• Transport security: all traffic is TLS 1.2+.
• Form submissions: delivered to our inbox and kept only as long as needed to quote and deliver your event.
• Booking records: kept as required by Australian tax law (5 years for transaction records).

8. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
• Ask us to delete your details.
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you believe we've mishandled your data.
