Outdoor festival lighting built for real weather

IP64-rated fixtures, engineered rigging and site-wide design that keeps a greenfield site glowing from gates-open to the last bus — rain, dust or sea breeze.

Greenfield sites

Lighting a paddock into a place

A greenfield site starts as grass and arrives as a world, and lighting does most of that transformation after dark. We design outdoor festival lighting in layers: warm festoon over avenues and eating areas so the site feels human, colour washes through trees and structures to build atmosphere, feature moments at entries and art pieces, and clean practical light at bars, toilets and egress routes where safety rules the spec. The trick is making the functional light disappear into the designed light so nothing on site looks like a work lamp. It's the approach we bring to every job on our festivals page, scaled from a one-paddock boutique event to a multi-zone site.

Weatherproofing

IP64 gear, tested, tagged and rigged for wind

Outdoor festivals in South East Queensland and Northern NSW get everything — summer storms rolling in fast, salt-laden sea breeze on coastal sites, dust when it's dry and mud when it isn't. Our outdoor fixtures are IP64-rated, every unit and cable is electrically tested and tagged, and rigging is engineered against wind loads rather than eyeballed: tensioned catenary for festoon runs, ballasted or staked poles on open ground, and weather housings on anything with a lens that must stay dry. Power distribution is planned with your site electrician, RCD-protected, and routed so cabling never becomes a trip hazard on a dark site. Shade and structure work is available too — see our event services for the wider kit.

On the ground

A local crew across bump-in, show and packdown

Outdoor sites punish suppliers who show up, plug in and leave. We stay across the event: bump-in sequenced with staging and site crews, a walk-through at dusk on night one to correct anything the daylight install couldn't reveal, on-call support through show days, and packdown run to the licence conditions — including leave-no-trace pulls on sensitive sites. Working across the Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Brisbane and the Northern Rivers means we're rarely more than an hour or so from site, so pre-event visits and last-minute changes are genuinely easy. If your outdoor event leans more art-piece than paddock, our creative installations cover that territory. Otherwise, send the site map through the contact page for a plan and price within 24 hours.

Frequently asked

The show goes on — outdoor fixtures are IP64-rated and rigging is engineered for weather. We monitor conditions through the event and adjust anything exposed before it becomes a problem.

Yes — we design around generator distribution regularly, plan loads with your site electrician or generator supplier, and keep circuits RCD-protected throughout.

Rigging is designed to wind load: tensioned catenary wire for festoon, ballasted poles on open ground, and rated hardware everywhere. Coastal and ridge-line sites get extra margin in the spec.

Yes — multi-day and camping festivals are core work. We build for continuous operation, check the rig each day, and stay on call across the run.

For festival-scale outdoor work, eight to twelve weeks out is comfortable and lets us do a proper site visit. Shorter is often possible — quotes always come back within 24 hours.
