When does the lighting get installed?

After the marquee goes up — usually the day before your wedding. We coordinate bump-in times with your marquee company so the sequencing is their problem and ours, not yours.

Can lighting be rigged in a sailcloth marquee without damaging it?

Yes — we rig from the frame and poles, never the fabric, using methods the marquee companies themselves approve. Sailcloth with a glowing canopy inside is arguably the best look in wedding lighting.

What if the marquee is open-sided and weather rolls in?

All our gear is IP64 weatherproof rated with sealed connections, so wind-blown rain through open sides doesn't threaten the install. The lighting keeps glowing while everyone dances through the weather.

How much does marquee wedding lighting cost?

Why lighting matters more in a marquee than anywhere

A marquee gives you a wedding venue exactly where you want one — but during the day it's essentially a white room, and at night it's a dark one. Lighting is what turns that shell into the venue. A dense fairy light canopy across the ceiling makes a sailcloth marquee glow like a lantern from outside; festoon runs along the ridge give a clearspan structure warmth and rhythm; and perimeter uplighting washes the walls so the space feels finished rather than temporary. Because the marquee frame itself is our rigging grid, almost any design is achievable — no venue restrictions, no heritage walls, just a structure built to hang things from. It's the most creative brief in wedding lighting, and our favourite.

The practical difference with marquee lighting is sequencing — the lighting can only go in after the marquee is up, and it has to come down before the marquee does. We've worked alongside most of the marquee companies operating across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers, so we handle that coordination directly: confirming frame load points, agreeing bump-in windows, and scheduling packdown so neither crew is waiting on the other. Every fixture we rig is IP64 weather-rated and tested and tagged, which matters in a structure that's open-sided or breathing with the weather. You book two suppliers; you deal with one conversation. That's how it should work, and with us it does.

Three marquee looks that never miss

After hundreds of marquee weddings, three designs come up again and again. The starlit ceiling: a full canopy, edge to edge, for sailcloth and pole marquees where the fabric itself becomes part of the glow. The festoon spine: bold globe runs down the ridge line with drops over the dance floor — the relaxed, garden-party feel, and the budget-friendliest of the three. And the full layer: canopy plus festoon plus perimeter uplighting, for couples who want the marquee unrecognisable as a hire structure.
