Corporate Guide

The corporate event lighting guide

Galas, conferences, awards nights and launches all live or die on production values — and lighting is the cheapest production value you can buy. How to plan it, brief it and budget it, from 10+ years of corporate work across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and beyond.

Brand The Room

Uplighting is the fastest way to own a venue

Every corporate event happens in someone else's room — a hotel ballroom in Surfers Paradise, a convention space in Brisbane, a function centre in Ipswich. LED uplighting is how you make it yours: wash the walls, columns and entry in your brand colours and the venue disappears behind your event. Because our fixtures are DMX-controlled, the branding can behave intelligently — full brand colour for arrival and the sponsor walk, dialled back to warm neutral through dinner so guests and food photograph well, then returned for the awards and the after-party. The mistake to avoid is saturating dining areas in strong colour all night; brand the architecture and the moments, not the faces. Our uplighting colour guide covers translating hex codes to light, and the corporate service page shows the full toolkit.

Light The Stage

Speakers, screens and the camera all need different light

The stage is where corporate lighting gets technical. Presenters need even, front-on wash at the right angle so they're lit without squinting and without shadows swallowing their eyes — critical the moment anything is filmed or streamed, which now is almost everything. Screens need the opposite: lighting kept off the projection surface so content stays punchy. The stage set and backdrop want their own colour treatment to give camera shots depth. Balancing those three competing needs is the actual skill, and it's why we design corporate stages with 3D renders during planning — your team signs off on the real look before load-in, not after. We integrate with your AV supplier or provide the full AV and technical production ourselves, which collapses three vendor conversations into one and removes the finger-pointing when the run sheet changes at 4pm. It always changes at 4pm.

Make The Moment

Reveals, launches and the shot everyone shares

Every corporate brief eventually says "we want a moment". Lighting delivers moments cheaply and reliably: a programmed colour snap as the award winner is announced, a stage that transforms for the product reveal, projection mapping that turns your set or the venue facade into the launch content itself. These are run-sheet-cued sequences operated live by our technicians on DMX and Resolume, rehearsed before doors, so the moment lands on the beat rather than three awkward seconds after. For end-of-year parties, festival-grade extras — lasers, haze, a properly lit dance floor (see our dance floor ideas) — turn the corporate function into the party people mention in January. Every fixture is tested and tagged with compliance documentation ready for your venue. Brief us at contact; quotes return within 24 hours.

Frequently asked

Very closely, yes. Our DMX fixtures mix colour precisely and we fine-tune against your style guide on site, because wall surfaces change how colour reads. Sponsors and marketing teams sign off on the result in the room, not off a spec sheet.

Yes — test-and-tag records, insurance and safe-work documentation are standard on every corporate job. Venue operations teams across Brisbane and the Gold Coast know our paperwork arrives before our truck does.

Absolutely. We integrate with in-house venue AV and external suppliers regularly, or we can carry the full technical production — lighting, vision and operation — ourselves. One supplier usually costs less and coordinates better, but we're easy either way.

For end-of-year season (October to December) book two to three months ahead — dates genuinely sell out. Conferences and launches at other times can usually be turned around faster. Quotes always come back within 24 hours.

For any job with programmed cues, stage wash or reveals, yes — a technician runs the show live as part of the quote. Static setups like uplighting-only events don't need one, and we'll tell you honestly which category your event falls into.
